Mingyuan is currently a PhD Candidate at the Australian National University, researching the representation of ethnic minorities in China’s museums. With previous experiences conducting fieldwork in Guangxi and interning in Beijing and Shanghai, he developed a deep interest in this topic. He holds a MA degree in Cultural Heritage and Museology from Fudan University, with a thesis titled “Representing Ethnic Cultures in International Exhibitions Sent out by Chinese Museums”. Mingyuan’s current research takes a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to examine the various actors involved and how they negotiate to curate exhibitions in China’s ethnic museums, aiming to contribute to a more nuanced understanding of this important issue.
