HRC 2025 Annual Theme – BREATHING

Breathing is not nothing. It is not neutral. It is an act and a process that can bring the body/bodies and mind/minds into dialogue and sometimes alignment. It can be a form of resistance. Purposeful engaged breathing helps us work out what actions to take individually and as a collective.

In 2025, the Humanities Research Centre is breathing, taking time to identify new opportunities and spaces to explore. Our mission remains to advance the production, dissemination and public translation of outstanding and innovative, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scholarship in the humanities across the ANU, nationally and globally. Join us, as we slow down and focus on building next steps, together.
