We are absolutely delighted to share the news that three HRC fellows have been awarded significant fellowships by the Australian Research Council.

  • Associate Professor Catherine Frieman (ANU School of Archaeology and Anthropology and 2022 HRC-RSHA Internal Fellow) – Awarded ARC Future Fellowship for “Kin and connection: Ancient DNA between the science and the social”.
  • Dr Gemma King (ANU School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics and HRC Adjunct Fellow) – Awarded ARC DECRA for “Signs on Screen: Language, Culture and Power in Sign Language Cinema’.
  • Dr Earvin Cabalquinto (Deakin University School of School of Communication and Creative Arts and HRC Honorary Fellow) – Awarded ARC DECRA for “Exploring the digital divide in the ageing migrant’s personal home”.

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of these scholars, who have all made outstanding contributions to the intellectual life and community of the HRC. Congratulations Cate, Gemma, and Earvin!
